IGT Hits Record High in April with $17 Million in Progressive Jackpot Wins
IGT is celebrating its progressive jackpot network paying out seven-figures in April. The company’s Wheel of Fortune, Powerbucks and Megabucks cumulatively paid out $17 million last month, making it one of the biggest months on record.
The prizes are available to players in a number of jurisdictions across North America and they have been consistently paying out large sums since they were launched in 1996. Impressively, IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots has created more than 1,100 millionaires since the games were launched almost 30 years ago and they have paid out a total of $3.4 billion.
April 2023 saw three big winners, on April 2, 15 and 28. The biggest win took place at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada and it was also the biggest single-slot jackpot win in the company’s history. A lucky person spinning the reels of the Megabucks game won $14,005,833 having placed a bet of just $10.
The lucky player was a woman who spent a total of 40 minutes playing before the jackpot was won and according to IGT VP of Western Region & Mexico sales, Toni Martinez, the entire property celebrated her win.
The next big win took place in Canada at the Casino Woodbine in Ontario. A player won CA$3,217,900, the biggest land-based jackpot ever won in the country. Not many details are known about the lucky player, but the casino has been enjoying a steady increase in traffic since the win was announced.
The final win took place online. A player in Quebec, Canada, enjoying the Powerbucks series of games hit a win of CA$1,728,721 while spinning the reels of Wheel of Fortune Elegant Emeralds.
