Golden Nugget Danville Launches Temporary Casino in Illinois
The Golden Nugget Danville Casino, situated in the US state of Illinois, opened its doors to the public as a temporary casino last weekend, thirteen months after construction for the project broke ground.
The casino project cost $105 million and the gaming floor covers more than 30,000 square feet. Gamblers in the gaming area can enjoy 500 slot machines and a variety of traditional casino table games.
The Golden Nugget casino also has restaurant facilities for customers with a Steak House and a Sports Bar showing live events and serving refreshments. The project has been developed by Danville Development and management at the company said they were ecstatic about the casino opening and saw this as a milestone for the community in Danville.
The Illinois Gaming Board has issued the casino a temporary operating license and there were long queues of local residents when the community opened its doors to the public last weekend. There will be a grand opening ceremony for the casino at a later date in the future.
Senior management at the casino asked customers for patience as the staff at the venue get used to the operational running of the venue. They also stated the opening of the Golden Nugget would impact the wider local economy bringing in more revenue to the local community and businesses.
There are additional plans for a hotel on the Danville Casino site shortly, along with a conference venue and more dining options.
