German Regulator Awards License to SkillOnNet

SkillOnNet, the global gaming and entertainment operator, has been granted a license by Germany’s federal gambling regulator, die Glücksspielbehörde (GGL).

The license allows SkillOnNet to offer online slots in all of Germany’s states and it covers all SkillOnNet brands. However, at first, the operator will be focusing on its leading German-facing brand, DrueckGluek.de.

The site is already a strong performer in Germany. It has operated since 2015 with a license from the state of Schleswig-Holstein and it has now met the requirements laid out in the State Treaty on Gambling, which was passed in 2021.

Before the new regulations were introduced, Schleswig-Holstein was the only German state to license online slots. This allowed DrueckGluek.de to build a reputation in the country and it is particularly well known for its television advertising campaigns. The brand is also the sponsor of 2. Bundesliga football team Holstein Kiel.

The license is a further sign of SkillOnNet’s commitment to working in regulated markets that uphold high standards of fairness and responsible gambling. Germany now has some of the strictest gambling regulations in the world.

Germany is a huge market with a massive audience for slots. Having the official German license means SkillOnNet players will be part of a fully regulated experience, feeling more confident, safe, and secure, many for the first time. It’s also a recognition that we meet the high standards of the German licensing regime and are prepared to work with regulators to meet those standards, reinforcing that responsible gaming is the cornerstone of everything we do.
