Isaacs will resume the role on September 2, ending Entain’s seven-month search for a permanent CEO after Jette Nygaard-Andersen exited the position in December last year.

Isaacs joins the company with over 25 years of experience in the global sports betting, online gaming, and lottery industries. He began his career as a solicitor in Australia, where he worked with big corporate law firms before transitioning into the gaming industry.

He also previously served as Chairman of SB Tech until its acquisition by DraftKings in 2020. He has held key roles on the boards or in the C-suites of gaming industry players like Scientific Games, DraftKings, Bally Technologies, Aristocrat Technologies, and SHFL Entertainment.

Isaacs is currently a Non-Executive Director at Games Global after serving as the iGaming content provider Chair for two years. With his new appointment at Entain, Isaacs will step down from his position as Chair of the company but will continue to serve on its board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

I am very excited to be joining Entain. The company’s iconic brands, exceptional talent and ongoing execution of its refocused strategy will enable the business to return to a leadership position across all aspects. I am confident that Entain has an extremely bright future, and I look forward to leading the group in capitalising on the opportunities ahead and creating value for all its stakeholders.

Isaacs to Take Reins from David

Isaacs will take over from former Senior Independent Non-Executive Director Stella David, who has been serving as the firm’s CEO since Nygaard-Anderson left.

David will continue to play a vital role in the company’s governance as she steps into the role of Chair of Entain, succeeding Barry Gibson, who announced his retirement in April.

To ensure a seamless leadership handover, David will work closely with Isaacs before taking over as Chair upon Gibson’s retirement on September 30, 2024.

I am looking forward to working with Gavin and transitioning into my new role as Chair of this fantastic business. The positive progress we have already achieved means the business has strong building blocks in place for the future. I am confident that with Gavin’s leadership, we will realise the ambitious plans that we have for Entain.
