Following several days of productive meetings with key figures from communication agencies and legal consultants in online and casino games, the GAT team has announced a significant decision. In August 2025, GAT Caribe Cancun and GAT Expo Sao Paulo will be held with just a week’s difference between both events.

Brazil's Gaming Law Boosts GAT Expo 2025

This announcement comes in the wake of momentous gambling regulation news from Brazil. The Constitution and Justice Commission of the Brazilian Senate has approved the Gaming Law, which authorizes the legal operation of casinos, bingo, online games, and more.

This approval marks a significant milestone as it moves one step closer to a Senate plenary debate before heading to the presidential desk for sanctioning. The news has been met with celebrations among thousands of entrepreneurs eager to enter Brazil’s colossal market, which has long sought legalization by the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Reveling in the new José Aníbal Aguirre, the CEO of GAT, had the following words:

We are embarking on a new project with two sides and an extraordinary perspective. The meetings held in São Paulo concluded in an unexpected and providential way. The timing of the Gaming Law approval in the CCJ of the Brazilian Senate has generated immense enthusiasm among the advisors we engaged with to support an esports event in this country. Their encouragement has propelled us to propose the GAT Expo Sao Paulo, encompassing all gaming verticals, both land-based and online, and including esports, which initially motivated our visit.

The idea of hosting both events in consecutive weeks, one in Sao Paulo and the other in Cancun, has been warmly received by Miguel Angel Ochoa, the president of AIEJA. Ochoa informed that the AIEJA board of directors had decided to move the International Gaming Convention from its traditional March slot in CDMX to August in Cancun for 2025. This change aligns perfectly with the integration of GAT Caribe Cancun, fostering a productive business round trip between Mexico and Brazil under the "GAT Expo" brand.
