Gaming Arts CEO to Chair Nevada Gaming Control Board
Mike Dreitzer, CEO of Gaming Arts, has been named Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) by Governor Joe Lombardo, with his term set to begin on June 23.

According to Governor Lombardo's office, Dreitzer will leave his position as Gaming Arts CEO to assist with transition services. However, he will continue supporting the company as it navigates its upcoming merger with Merkur Gaming until June 2023.
Dreitzer's journey with Gaming Arts began in 2018 when he was appointed to the top role. Before joining the company, he held leadership positions at Ainsworth Game Technology and BMM Americas. He has also served as a Nevada Deputy Attorney, providing counsel to the NGCB and Nevada Gaming Commission.
I'm grateful to Governor Lombardo for his confidence in me. I look forward to furthering the essential mission of the Board, while supporting its agents and staff to ensure the highest quality gaming regulation for our state.

Hendrick’s Unexpected Exit
Dreitzer will succeed Kirk Hendricks as NGCB Chairman after the latter notified the Board and public officials of his resignation on January 23. Hendrick's departure came earlier than expected, as he was appointed to the role in 2023 for a four-year term.
Initially, Hendrick said he would stay until the end of Nevada's legislative session on June 2, but according to the governor's office, his last day is now set for June 22.
Handing over the gavel to Chairman Mike Dreitzer will be a smooth transition. Mike and I have known each other for almost 30 years, going back to our days in the attorney general's office. Mike is the perfect choice by Governor Lombardo based on Mike's long career in gaming law, government, regulatory compliance and business.
Dreitzer will serve out the remainder of Hendrick's term, which runs through January 2027, and could be reappointed to serve a full term.
Dreitzer's appointment marks the fifth leadership change for NGCB since January 2019, when Sandra Douglass Morgan succeeded Becky Harris. Morgan was followed by Brin Gibson in 2020, who stepped down in 2022, and then Brittnie Watkins took over as interim chair before Hendrick.
