Fanatics Betting and Gaming Enters West Virginian Market
Fanatics Betting and Gaming, a well-known name in the sports betting industry, has now expanded into West Virginia. It is the sixth state where the company’s sportsbook has launched, joining the likes of Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, and Massachusetts.
Originating in 2021 as a branch of Fanatics Holdings, a sports merchandise firm, Fanatics Betting and Gaming has evolved significantly. The company’s sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook, is accessible both online and at physical retail locations, and it is the only sportsbook operating within an NFL stadium.
Technological Integration and Customer Transition
The journey of Fanatics Sportsbook began in August, with significant strides made possible through the acquisition of PointsBet US. This move paved the way for its introduction in various states. For existing PointsBet users, the transition was seamless, allowing them to transfer their usernames, passwords, account balances, and responsible gaming settings directly to the Fanatics platform.
Casino and Sportsbook in West Virginia
In West Virginia, the Fanatics Sportsbook goes beyond standard sports betting. It introduces an online casino featuring games like roulette, slots, and blackjack. Additionally, there’s an innovative offering of live streaming and betting via BetVision, in partnership with Genius Sports Limited. This feature will be available for selected professional football games.
The platform operates a loyalty program utilizing its in-app currency, FanCash. This can be exchanged for Bonus Bets or used for purchases on the Fanatics website.
Matt King, CEO of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, spoke of his vision for the company’s future in the United States.
We have a 10-year plan that focuses on the customer and not market share. We are going to acquire customers efficiently... allowing us to return savings to customers by investing in the customer experience.
