The 2024 colloquium will examine the link between gambling and sports, including football, cricket, and eSports. This focus comes amid recent findings by the University, which revealed a significant spike in gambling marketing during the Premier League's opening weeks.
Additionally, delegates will also explore the factors contributing to harmful gambling and how it exacerbates socio-economic disparities, as well as the practical interventions to address these issues.
Experts will also look into illegal gambling and fraud, cryptocurrency's role in gaming, and other related topics.
The colloquium is expected to be attended by 150 attendees from the US, Namibia, Norway, Gibraltar, and several other countries.
