EstrelaBet Gets Green Light for Brazil iGaming
EstrelaBet has been awarded an iGaming license in Brazil, allowing the sports betting operator to offer its services to players in the jurisdiction.

The operator was able to secure the approval after fulfilling all the necessary conditions set by the Secretariat of Prize and Betting (SPA) to participate in the market.
With the license, EstrelaBet joins the ranks of 17 authorized brands, cleared to operate in Brazil until the end of 2029, as officially announced by SPA through a series of ordinances published in the State Gazette on February 18.
There is also a separate category for provisional authorization, which includes companies that successfully completed the initial stages of the legalization process but failed to meet the remaining requirements within the allotted 30-day timeframe.
Applicants seeking a full market license must fulfill three primary conditions, including a one-time license fee of BR $30 million (US $5.24 million), having a physical headquarters within Brazil, and obtaining certification from an accredited company such as Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), to guarantee security compliance.
To achieve full market compliance, EstrelaBet also implemented other key measures, including a player registry system utilizing facial biometrics, round-the-clock customer support, and the appointment of a dedicated ombudsman to handle customer grievances.
Furthermore, the operator partnered with FUMEC University to develop educational programs and utilize predictive analysis tools to identify and support players exhibiting problem gambling behaviors.
EstrelaBet was one of the operators asked by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) to reveal details of their strategies to protect vulnerable consumers last November.
This recognition is the result of years of work, commitment, and dialogue with regulatory authorities. We always seek to offer a safe, responsible, and innovative experience to our users. Obtaining the definitive license is a big step and the real work begins now. The regulated market is still in its early days and we have the responsibility to actively contribute to its development.

A Head Start in Brazil’s Betting Space
Established in 2019, EstrelaBet was a leading sportsbook operator in Brazil before the government introduced a new gambling framework. As far back as 2022, the operator had sponsorship deals with Athletico Paranaense and Internacional, two football teams in the country's premier and most recognized league, Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
EstrelaBet’s experience in navigating the local market, albeit in a previously unregulated environment, would have equipped it with valuable insights to dominate the newly regulated market. The operator’s early mover advantage and existing brand recognition will also play a crucial role in its quest to expand its market share and assert dominance in the competitive betting landscape.
