Delaware Online Betting Market Sees Record Growth in April

Delaware has released its sports betting results for April, showing a significant year-on-year increase in its sports betting handle and revenue.

Total player spending reached $15.5 million in the month, a remarkable 400% increase from the same month last year. However, compared month-on-month, the figure fell 18% behind $18.9 million in March 2024.

Regarding revenue, sports betting earnings in the state reached $1.0 million in April, a 171% year-over-year surge equal to the previous month’s total.

This growth aligns with the state’s consistent upward trend since the beginning of the year. It can be attributed to the January launch of the Delaware Lottery’s online sportsbook, powered by Rush Street Interactive and BetRivers.

Delaware Park Remains Market Leader

In terms of operators’ performance, Delaware Park continues to lead the market, with a revenue of $622160 generated from a handle of $10.7 million.

Harrington Raceway followed in second place, posting $114,792 in revenue off $2.9 million in total bets. Bally’s Dover takes the third spot with $77,175 in revenue from $ 1.3 million in handle.

Additionally, retailers across the state generated $86,409 in revenue from $715,036 in bets.

Delaware iGaming Revenue Reach $4.4M in April

Delaware’s iGaming sector also experienced a surge in April, with total revenue reaching $4.4 million. This is up 238.5% from the same month in 2023 and only slightly lower than the $4.6 million achieved in March 2024.

Online slots accounted for $3.3 million of the total revenue, while table games contributed $1.1 million.

iGaming players placed a total of $134.5 million in wagers in the month, a 240.5% increase from the $39.5 million wagered in April last year. However, it is slightly 1.1% below the $136.0 million wagered in March.

Delaware Park also maintained its dominance in the iGaming market with a total revenue of $2.0 million. Harrington Raceway was, once again, second with $1.4 million in revenue. Bally’s Dover took third place, generating a revenue of $1.0 million.
