Daniel Lucas Joins PointsBet as New Chief Technology Officer
PointsBet has announced the appointment of Daniel Lucas as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Lucas is the current Global Director of Trading Technology at Flutter. In this role, he manages technology operations and services for the company's brands, such as Fanduel, Sportsbet, Paddypower, Betfair, Pokerstars, and Skybet.
Before joining Flutter, he served at Sportsbet as the Head of Data Solutions and the Head of Trading Technology. Lucas will take over from the current CTO, Jerry Bowskill, who will step down from the role after Fanatics Betting and Gaming acquired the US section of the business.
Bowskill joined PointsBet in 2022 and previously held similar roles at Capital International Group and The Stars Group. The new appointment will take effect from September 1 and will require Lucas to move from the United Kingdom to Melbourne. Until then, he will remain in his role at Flutter.
I am super excited about the opportunity to join a technology and product-led company like PointsBet. They continue to invest in their platforms and there are exciting growth opportunities ahead.
New PointsBet Group CFO
Lucas’ appointment comes nearly two months after PointsBet announced the addition of a new Group CFO and other significant organizational changes. Alister Lui was promoted to the role of Group CFO of the company from his current office of CFO (Australia) and Head of Group Finance. Lui has more than 17 years of expertise in senior banking and finance positions and has been a member of PointsBet's finance team for six years.
He succeeds Andrew Mellor, who has served in the position for five years. Considering Mellor’s plans for the future, PointsBet devised a transition plan that would allow him to assist in the handover of responsibilities to Alister Lui until February 29, 2024.
