Tsai joined the company in 2022 when he took up the position of CEO of Crown Perth, then moved to take the helm at Crown Resorts as acting CEO, following the departure of Ciarán Carruthers as CEO. This promotion is subject to approval from the regulatory gaming authorities in the jurisdiction.

Before joining Crown, Tsai spent fifteen years at the global gaming giant MGM Resorts International where he held a range of leadership roles. He brings nearly two decades of experience in global gaming, hospitality, event organizing, and entertainment operations. He has also worked for McKinsey & Company, ARIA Resort & Casino, and MGM Resorts in the US.

David is a highly capable, proven and experienced integrated resorts executive who has clearly demonstrated his commercial and strategic ability. Together with his strong cultural and team values, David is well positioned to lead the continued transformation, growth and future success of Crown’s business. As CEO, David will focus on the highest standards of guest experience across each of our resorts, including the refurbishment and launch of exciting new venues and experiences at each of our properties throughout 2025 and beyond, while continuing our commitment to safe and responsible gaming.

Crown Resorts Focuses on the Future

In the statement Crown Resorts says it is trying to focus on the future of the business and now has a new management structure in place. The company says its commitment to responsible gaming and high service standards align with the values of David Tsai, as the business pursues growth for the future.

Crown has encountered several problems with the regulatory authorities in Australia and earlier this month was fined fined $2 million by the VGCC for Self-Exclusion failure in the state of Victoria.

I look forward to leading Crown Resorts as CEO through its next phase of transformation and development. With the support of our talented and committed team, our goal is for Crown Resorts to be the ultimate entertainment destination in each of our cities, positioning Crown to thrive long into the future.
