Coolbet Boosts List of IBIA Partner Operators
Online sportsbook Coolbet has announced its registration with the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) days after it got approval to launch in the newly-regulated Ontario market.
As an IBIA member, Coolbet will join the other operator partners of the association across the globe in sharing its integrity-related data. This, as IBIA postulates, will help flag suspicious betting activity to sporting bodies.
Purchased by GAN last year, Coolbet has always projected itself as the “first fully transparent online sportsbook.” By joining IBIA, Coolbet further brings proof to its assertion of being a trustworthy bookmaker.
The development was also in line with the standards for sports betting in Ontario, which stated that operators must join an integrity monitoring body like IBIA to fully offer their services in Ontario. Thus, Coolbet followed the steps of VBet and ComeOn Group, which recently got licensed for the Ontario regulated market, to join the association.
We are very pleased to be part of the IBIA. There is strength in numbers and power in unity, and together with the rest of IBIA’s members, we are in great position to help maintain integrity and stop foul play in our industry.
Combined, IBIA members account for €115bn (£98bn/($122.75bn) in global annual turnover. Last year, the association revealed that it had flagged 42 suspicious betting alerts in Q1 of 2022, a major reduction from the alerts generated in Q1 of 2021 and Q4 of that year.
