Connecticut Regulator Suspends High5Games License
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) has suspended the license of online games provider High5Games due to alleged illegal activity.

According to the department, High5Games, which supplies online slot games to regulated gaming sites in Connecticut, is also operating an unlicensed online casino, High 5 Casino.
The department claimed that the gambling site was promoted as a legitimate and licensed casino and accepted bets from residents in the state, including individuals on the statewide self-exclusion list.
An investigation into the platform’s activities found that about 1,100 customers had made deposits and gambled on the site. Of these customers, 911 incurred losses totaling $937,938, and 108 were in the state’s self-exclusion program.
Authorities will now charge High5Gamss with 1,065 counts of illegal gaming activity. Investigators will also pursue further charges for the company’s other breaches of state gaming regulations.
Each of the 1,065 charges is classified as a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to 12 months in jail and a maximum fine of $2,000.
The DCP also plans to seek compensation for those who lost on the site.
Thank you to our Gaming Division team for their hard work to hold this licensee accountable. It is a privilege to hold this license, and we expect our credential holders to take that responsibility seriously. High5Games took advantage of their credential to mislead consumers into believing they were participating in gaming on a legal platform when, in fact, they were breaking the law. We remind consumers that there are only two licensed online casinos in Connecticut — DraftKings/Foxwoods and FanDuel/Mohegan Sun — and if you choose to participate in online gaming, you should only utilize one of the legal platforms licensed to operate in our state.

High5Games’ Legal Woes Continue
This latest regulatory challenge for High5Games comes after it was ordered to pay $25 million to settle charges in Washington.
A class action lawsuit brought by former high-stakes customers in the state claims that High 5 Games online social casino games violated Washington state's gaming laws and amounted to illegal gambling.
Since there is already an existing ruling that established the gambling nature of social casinos, the court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs and ordered High5Games to compensate affected players.
