Collin Morikawa Joins Las Vegas Sands’ Community Initiatives
Golfer Collin Morikawa, who has won six PGA Tour titles, is partnering with Las Vegas Sands Corp. on a scheme that aims to boost community programs and the operator’s casino resorts.
Las Vegas Sands announces partnership with Collin Morikawa.
As part of the company’s commitment to helping to develop strong communities, Morikawa will work on a number of projects related to youth development and community revitalization. To mark the start of the partnership, Las Vegas Sands is donating $100,000 to the restoration of the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course in Los Angeles.
Campaigning for Junior Golf Development
Morikawa is from LA and the honorary chairman of the FORE Youth: The 2023 U.S. Open Community Legacy Campaign. As part of this, he has spent a great deal of time campaigning for the restoration of the course. It is a nine-hole, par-3 course and the aim is to provide facilities that will allow it to be used as a junior golf development center.
Together with Las Vegas Sands, Morikawa will be holding golf clinics that are designed to aid youth development through building leadership skills. In the past, he has worked on similar projects, such as at the Sands Youth Golf Clinic in Macao and the Sands Cares Youth Empowerment Initiative in Long Island New York.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with Sands in New York and Macao, and we are very much aligned in our commitment to leverage the sport of golf to advance youth development and build leadership skills. But I’m just as excited that we share a vision for creating strong communities by addressing areas that need the infusion of resources we can bring to the table. Working together, we will create many opportunities for our joint community priorities.

Plans for Further Rejuvenation Projects
In the past, Las Vegas Sands and Morikawa have worked on a number of community schemes including aid work during last year’s Hawaii wildfires. However, they are now working on plans to expand their partnership and work together on several rejuvenation programs in a number of locations.
Robert G. Goldstein, the Sands chairman and CEO, has described Morikawa as an “outstanding partner” thanks to his leadership on and off the golf course. He added, “Between our mutual home of Las Vegas and shared Asia roots, we intend to create a host of opportunities to advance the priorities and causes that are equally important to us.”
