Sierra-Hughes, a Panamanian lawyer with an MA in commercial law, has become synonymous with the transformation of the gaming industry in LATAM. Her commitment to regulated markets that adhere to global standards, backed by her expertise in gaming laws, has made her an influential figure in shaping the region's legislative framework.
The ICE Ambassador team comprises a corps of international thought leaders drawn from all sectors of the industry who give their time, insight and advice freely. Using her law degree and extensive gaming regulatory experience. Karen has helped guide the government agencies in Latin America to improve the regulatory landscape, providing advice that has led to comprehensive and responsible laws and regulations.
Hunter also highlighted the excitement within the team to have Sierra-Hughes on board, especially during the important lead-up to ICE London 2024 and the first ICE Barcelona event in January 2025.
With her prior experience as the Legal Director of the Panama Gaming Control Board, Sierra-Hughes brings a unique viewpoint to the ICE Ambassador program. Her expertise is expected to significantly contribute to the enrichment of the experience for exhibitors and attendees, which includes over 45,000 industry professionals from more than 150 countries for ICE London 2024.
Anticipation Builds for ICE London 2024
London 2024 is anticipated to be a landmark event for the gaming industry, with over 600 exhibitors and around 45,000 visitors. The event is an important gathering for global leaders, regulators, and innovators from different gaming disciplines to engage and discover new frontiers in the industry.
Clarion Gaming revealed in August that starting in 2025, the ICE and iGB conferences will transition from London to Barcelona. After evaluating proposals from Madrid, Paris, and London, Barcelona was chosen for its exceptional facilities, hospitality, and logistical capabilities.
The 2025 iteration of ICE will be hosted at the expansive Fira de Barcelona venue, spanning 240,000 square meters, from January 20 to 22. The iGB L!VE will take place at ExCeL London in 2025, moving from its previous location in Amsterdam. In related news, Clarion Gaming has also extended its partnership with the European Casino Association for the ICE event.
