Betr Rolls Out Real-Money Betting In Ohio
Micro betting platform Betr has fully launched its real-money gambling services in the newly regulated market of Ohio.
Betr gained approval to launch its sports betting operations in Ohio after meeting the stipulated requirements and signing a 10-year partnership with the Hall of Fame Resort and Entertainment Company.
The platform soft-launched in the Buckeye State on January 1 when the sports betting market first went live. With its complete offering now available, bettors in Ohio can make real-money deposits and wager on a wide range of sports on the site.
Betr was founded by Jake Paul and Joey Levy in August 2022 as the world’s first micro-betting-focused app, allowing users to wager on fast-resolving markets. In September, the startup announced the launch of its mobile app for Android and IOS users, offering an initial free-to-play experience for bettors in the United States.
This launch marks the beginning of our gradual, methodical approach to state-by-state expansion, where we will take the time necessary to discover and validate the product-market fit of our highly differentiated product experience to ensure we scale in a profitable manner. This launch also sets a US online sports betting record for the fastest launch from company founding to a fully licensed and regulated real money betting product, speaking to the capabilities of the Betr team to execute quickly and efficiently.
Ohio marks the first state Betr would launch its real-money offering in the US. In November 2022, the betting operator received a betting license to operate in Indiana but is yet to offer real-money betting in the state. The startup plans to gain market access to more jurisdictions in the coming months.
