BetMGM & MGM Resorts Expand Responsible Gaming Initiatives

MGM Resorts International and BetMGM, the global gaming and entertainment operators, have announced several new partnerships to promote their responsible gambling programs. This statement coincides with the start of Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) which is held in March and gives stakeholders in gambling a chance to focus on the work in the industry to reduce gambling harm. It also highlights help and support tools that problem gamblers can access if they feel vulnerable.

They have donated $180,000 to the Kindbridge Research Institute, the nonprofit organization that researches problem gambling to examine the impact of gambling across society and to develop responsible gambling strategies. BetMGM has expanded its partnership with the Kindbridge Behavioral Health which provides mental health support and services for customers who are facing problems due to gambling activities.

During PGAM, MGM Resorts and BetMGM have said they will increase their responsible gambling programs across all their betting platforms. Their platforms use the GameSense responsible gaming tools, which gives gamblers who are need of support a range of tools and advice that can be used to reduce gambling related harms. Some of the tools available are time out options, responsible gaming advice, and a support team that can help individuals at risk from gambling related harms.

Operators Provide Education Schemes on Reducing Gambling Harm

MGM Resorts and BetMGM run an educational program for its employees on the gambling industry and provides training on responsible gaming and initiatives on creating a safe environment for gamblers.

Additionally both parties endorse the educational program provided by the American Gaming Association's (AGA) which promotes the Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly campaign devised to encourage gamblers to place wagers in a responsible way.
