Australian Government Shelves Gambling Ad Reforms Until 2025
Ministers in the Australian government have confirmed that changes to gambling advertising in the sector that it had promised to enact this year will not be introduced to Parliament until 2025 due to time constraints to debate the issues later this year.

The government has said it would introduce gambling reforms this year but there is only one week left to implement any changes. These changes were recommended in a report from the MP Peta Murphy and included banning all gambling advertisements.
There is a coalition of ministers and anti-gambling organizations that have raised concerns that the government has not introduced stricter rules for gambling companies. They believe the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese is hesitant to introduce a gambling ads ban.
The proposed gambling reform changes could now be debated early next year, however there is a possibility this could be also be delayed even further due to the federal elections.
