AGA Joins Forces with BGC and ECA to Tackle Illegal Gambling
In a move to strengthen global gaming cooperation, the American Gaming Association (AGA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Casino Association (ECA) and the UK Betting & Gaming Council (BGC).
The agreement will enable the associations to jointly address vital issues like responsible gambling and customer security.
According to the AGA, the MOU formalizes a united front against illegal gambling, allowing the associations to jointly address vital issues like responsible gaming, innovation, and security.
The agreement will enable the associations to launch a joint research platform and facilitate collaboration and expertise exchange among staff and members.
This new partnership is a significant step forward in our collective efforts to advance the legal gaming industry and protect consumers around the globe. By sharing our unique resources, we will expand our fight against illegal gambling to new fronts, work together to strengthen responsible gaming, and innovate around business best practices. By fostering dialogue and cooperation across borders, the AGA, ECA, and BGC are taking a proactive approach to safeguarding the integrity of the legal gaming industry and ensuring its continued growth and success.
Roundtable Scheduled for 2025
The gaming bodies will kick off their partnership with a law enforcement roundtable in January 2025 to tackle illegal gambling. The roundtable will bring together influential figures from the gaming industry, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory bodies. Discussions will center on the consequences of illegal gambling on legitimate operators, consumer safety, and the global financial landscape.
Furthermore, participants will explore ways to improve global cooperation, share best practices, and devise practical strategies to combat illegal gaming activities effectively.
The European Casino Association stands united with the AGA and BGC in its commitment to addressing the key issues facing all gaming industry stakeholders. The ECA fully backs this initiative and supports the ongoing efforts to rigorously combat illegality within our industry, continuously strengthen player protections and security, and ensure the creation of an environment that fosters innovation and growth within the gaming community.
