Gaming operators have the opportunity to join a vibrant sports betting market in North America, and Arizona is one of a few states to generate over $1 billion in total sports betting revenue.
The ADG says they will begin the process for gaming operators to apply for a license on July 8th and will close on July 19th. Currently, sports betting operators are required to have partnered with tribal gaming organizations or sports teams based in Arizona to bring their sportsbook offerings to customers in the state.
Arizona Law Permits up to 20 Licenses
Established in 1995, the ADG has overseen the regulation of gaming activities in Arizona, with online sports betting launched in 2021. Under the gambling legislation in Arizona, there are a maximum of 20 event licenses for sports betting companies to operate in the state. Through this process, there are up to three licenses that are available.
